ResCare employee raises money for SHARE

SHARE is a program unique to ResCare.

It began nearly 20 years ago with the recognition that our employees live in all different environments throughout the country and experience times of crisis in their lives that may be beyond the scope of an employer/employee relationship. Employees from all areas of the company joined together to create an organization dedicated to helping their fellow employees.

Out of their efforts grew SHARE, which stands for Support, Help, Assistance, Relief Effort. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) ResCare charity that provides assistance to ResCare employees during times of emergency need.

Employees pledge money from their salaries or hold events to fund the charity. ResCare pays all the administrative costs for the program.

Since the program began in 1993, employees have donated more than $3,000,000 to approximately 8,000 ResCare employees and/or their family members. The donations may be used to help them after a fire, through an illness or to help family members after an employee’s death.

Employees can apply for emergency funds through their direct supervisor, or their supervisor may come directly to SHARE on the employee’s behalf.
