BrightSpring Named Business of the Year Finalist

BrightSpring Health Services / December 7, 2018

BrightSpring Health Services was named a 2018 Business of the Year Finalist by Louisville Business First for its outstanding achievements over the past 18 months in the industry and in the community.

BrightSpring Health was recognized for its strategic growth strategy, continuous improvement in service excellence, as well as its investment in its people, process and technology.

“We’re honored and extremely proud to be named a Business of the Year Finalist,” said President and CEO Jon Rousseau. “In the past 18 months, we’ve undergone a company transformation that our team of people are excited about and that has resulted in many milestones. As we continue to focus on investments in people, technology and innovation to create a smart, lean and growth-minded organization, our primary goal of delivering safe and improved outcomes to the people and communities will be accomplished. We take our responsibilities and mission seriously; we’re energized by doing good work for those who need support to live a better life; and we want to accomplish that important work in the most efficient and service-oriented way.”

Building on its rich 40+ year history as ResCare, the award reflects the progressive changes the company has undergone, including the rebranding of the parent company to BrightSpring Health Services. The new direction and name reflect its successful repositioning as a leader in the health care and home health industry, expanding its services to include not only nonclinical services, but clinical capabilities in a variety of businesses, such as hospice, home health, neuro rehabilitation, autism and pharmacy.

“I want to congratulate and thank all of our 45,000 employees across the organization who have worked extremely hard and should be proud of this achievement,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Sonny Terrill. “Our employees are the heart of who we are and what we do to make a difference in people’s lives in the communities we serve every day.”

About the Awards
The companies, chosen in various size categories, were awarded for demonstrating excellence in the local business community, making Louisville a better place to live and work. A panel of Louisville Business First staff members examined the applications and designated the finalists by annual revenue in each of six categories — very large companies, large companies, medium companies, small companies, emerging companies and nonprofits. Through an independent panel of judges – all previous award recipients – the 2018 process culminated with six winners.
