HOMESTEAD, FL (June 9, 2014) – Getting an education can be a balancing act. Add children into the mix, and it can become overwhelming. For the young mothers who attend Homestead Job Corps Center, walking through the door every day means not only fulfilling a goal of creating a better life for themselves, but also for their children. Whether learning new skills or receiving real world experience, students with children may struggle when results aren’t always immediate and their needs often fall to the bottom of a long list of priorities.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Beauty Schools of America wanted to give the young ladies a chance to put their feet up, take a break from the daily grind and enjoy a moment just for themselves. The day of complimentary services provided more than just relaxation for the women. It provided inspiration through a day they will hold in their memories as they head back into their homes and classrooms.

The students agreed the day at the salon and a break from being ‘mom’ was the greatest gift they could imagine. They appreciated the pampering and all left with smiles on their faces.

The students at HJCC were not the only ones who felt inspired by the special Mother’s Day gift. Beauty Schools for America employees took great pleasure in knowing that they could bring joy to of the students.

“This is a win-win for all involved,” Paola Ospina, career services coordinator for the Homestead campus of Beauty Schools of America, said. “It gives us great pleasure to work with your Job Corps students and share the mutual inspiration that comes from just plain human kindness and attention, even for a small part of the day.”
