ResCare celebrates Direct Support Professional appreciation week

NATIONWIDE (October 4, 2013) – ResCare direct support professionals (DSPs) provide assistance every day to the people we serve to ensure they achieve the independence they want and accomplish their dreams. Each year we recognize and celebrate these hardworking individuals for the care they provide and their dedication to the field during DSP Recognition Week.

ResCare Residential Services of Chesterland, OH recognized their DSPs with T-shirts, gift cards and certificates of appreciation.

ResCare operations across the nation joined together from September 8th to September 14th as they held special events to show appreciation for these selfless individuals.

ResCare Residential Services in Princeton, WV sent out star bordered invitations to their DSPs for a celebration that included gourmet cupcakes and awards with personalized certificates and name tags.

Salem Villages in Tennessee also liked the idea of providing their DSP’s with some delicious treats, so they held a luncheon titled “DSPs are the heart and soul of ResCare.” Each DSP received a T-shirt and many won door prizes. Director Amy Grigsby presented the nominees for DSPs of the Year with gift cards.

ResCare Residential Services in Chesterland, OH celebrated the week with open houses throughout the day. Each DSP received a certificate of appreciation and recognition for their length of service. The celebration included drawings for prizes, T-shirts and gift cards, plus a short presentation by Executive Director Kevin Cook.

“I appreciate everyone’s continued dedication and commitment to the individuals we serve and to our company’s mission of providing quality services,” Mr. Cook said. “Our company is blessed with the gift of good people who love and care for others each and every day of the year.”
