Schools and Academies

ResCare partners with a variety of public and private entities to provide education to our youth. We offer academic choices for youth through individualized learning environments. These facilities include private and charter schools.

Excel Alternative Schools
Since 1994, Excel has worked to support students and parents with innovative alternatives to traditional education programs by working in close partnership with local school districts. The program offers alternative middle and high school management services focusing on youth who are disruptive or disinterested. We pride ourselves on our ability to motivate students and their parents.
Excel schools have achieved an unsurpassed average daily attendance record of more than 85% and 93% of students are successful upon return to their home school.

Texas Hill Country School
The Texas Hill Country School fosters the belief that each student can reach his maximum potential within the right academic environment. Many of our students struggled in a traditional school setting and became disenchanted, not only with learning, but also with other aspects of life. We have demonstrated that when these students are recognized as individuals and nurtured, they can develop a clearer sense of self.

The Texas Hill Country School specializes in working with students with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, acquired brain injury, autism, and a host of other developmental, neurological and psychological problems.

Charter and Private School Management
ResCare operates specialized K-12 schools designed to meet the unique learning challenges of all students. Developed with the input of parents, our schools provide a rigorous educational option in a family-centered school community. For more than a decade, ResCare schools have offered parents and families options for success. We pride ourselves on the quality of our educators, the strength of our models and, most importantly, the success of the children we teach.

New Summit School
Located in Jackson, Mississippi, New Summit School was established in 1997 as a non-traditional school. Although New Summit School is designed similarly to traditional schools, emphasis is placed on keeping instructional groups small and teaching to the individual student in a positive and stimulating environment. New Summit School is committed to an educational philosophy that considers the diverse needs of today's students and families.

Academy for Individual Excellence
Located in Louisville, Kentucky, The Academy for Individual Excellence is a family oriented school which strives to create a natural environment that is low risk and conducive to high motivation and self-direction. This environment fosters a child’s natural love for learning and allows each child to be inspired, and, in return, to inspire others.

Copper Canyon
Located in Glendale, Arizona, Copper Canyon is a charter school committed to providing education programs and services to children and their families in order for the children to acquire the skills necessary to live productive and responsible lives.
