Remote Monitoring and Support

ResCare’s remote monitoring and support service leverages the latest technology to help disabled individuals and seniors live safely at home while maintaining their privacy and independence. Offered through Rest Assured®, a ResCare company, the service is powered by a patented, state-of-the-art, Web-based Telecare system and includes remote support from the Rest Assured® staff.

Remote monitoring and support services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. Based on the client’s specific needs, a remote monitoring and support arrangement can be used either as an alternative to in-home care or in conjunction with home care services provided by ResCare HomeCare.

Rest Assured® installs a workstation with a broadband Internet connection as well as cameras and sensing devices in the client’s home to enable real-time monitoring and two-way communication. Once the client’s system is in place, Rest Assured® can provide a full range of services.

Family Support

Our Family Support service enables visual and two-way audio communication between the client’s home and the residence or workplace of a family member or loved one. From any PC connected to the Internet, the family member or loved one can see what’s happening in the home, talk to the client or on-site staff, and see any alerts activated by the home’s sensors.

Drop-in Support

Our Drop-in Support service includes Family Support and more. Using the Web-based Telecare system, staff members at the Rest Assured® response center will drop in on the client at designated times to make sure all is well or to ensure that the client is taking medication as scheduled or attending to other individual needs. Tele-caregivers can also check the home for smoke, carbon monoxide, temperature changes, window and door intrusions, or unusual movement. A minimum of three drop-in visits will be scheduled per day. In the event of any out-of-the-ordinary occurrence or emergency, the Rest Assured® Tele-caregivers will notify local emergency services, family members, ResCare HomeCare staff, or another designated contact.

Active Support

When Drop-in Support from remote Tele-caregivers isn’t enough, Rest Assured® can provide continuous remote support for a minimum of four hours per day. Clients selecting the Active Support service will also receive Family Support, enabling two-way communication between the client’s home and the home or workplace of a family member or loved one.

Emergency Support

Emergency Support can be added to Family Support or Drop-in Support services, or can be used to supplement the Active Support service (available for a minimum of four hours per day) during hours for which that service isn’t scheduled.

In the event of an emergency – including smoke in the home, the presence of carbon monoxide, a significant change in temperature, window or door intrusions, or unusual movement or lack of movement – sensors in the home will alert Tele-caregivers at the Rest Assured® center to respond. They will then notify local emergency services, family members, ResCare HomeCare staff, or another designated contact as instructed and appropriate. When combined with Active Support, Emergency Support offers exceptional peace of mind and a cost-effective alternative to 24-hour in-home care or care in a long-term facility.
