
The South County Career Center mission is to serve the community by providing individuals the guidance and resources necessary to achieve employment success and to deliver quality workforce services to employers. The South County Career Center is operated by ResCare, Inc. and is part of the San Diego County One-Stop Career Center Network.
The South County Career Center has formed long-standing partnerships with many agencies throughout the county including: Alliance for African Assistance, California Employment Development Department, San Diego Workforce Partnership, Inc., Southwestern Community College, Comprehensive Training Systems, Sweetwater Union High School District, Mental Health Systems, California Department of Rehabilitation, SER Jobs for Progress, San Diego Job Corps, Veterans Village of San Diego, VetWORKS/Able Disabled Advocacy and the South County Economic Development Council (SCEDC).
The South County Career Center offers a full array of job search and career development programs for everyone throughout South County regardless of ethnicity, income or employment status. The center offers a variety of workshops including work preparation, career exploration and computer based skills upgrade.
The San Diego Career Center Network, in partnership with Microsoft and with assistance from the U.S. Department of Labor, is proud to offer U.S. military Veterans and their eligible Covered Spouses, vouchers for no-cost IT skills training and certification designed to help build the technology skills employers are looking for.
More than half of today’s jobs across all industries require some technology skills, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that will reach 77 percent in the next decade. Whether you are interested in building your Windows and Office skills to further your career or grow your IT Professional skills for a career in technology, we have resources that can help.
Veterans and their eligible Covered Spouses can request a no-cost voucher that will help build skills in selected Microsoft technologies, plus an industry recognized certification exam that can be used to demonstrate skills to employers.
Visit one of six local Career Centers in San Diego County to see if you qualify for a training voucher. Locations include East County Career Center, North County Inland Career Center, North County Coastal Career Center, Metro Career Center, South Metro Career Center and South County Career Center.
Are you an eligible Veteran?
An eligible Veteran is an individual who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable.
Eligibility of Veterans is determined and certified at a Career Center.
Are you an eligible Covered Spouse?
The Covered Spouse eligibility includes the spouse of any Veteran who died of a service-connected disability; a member serving on active military duty who is listed as missing in action, captured in the line of duty by a hostile force, or forcibly detained or interned in the line of duty by a foreign government or power; or a veteran with a total service-connected disability rating or one who died being evaluated for it.
Eligibility of Covered Spouses is determined and certified at a Career Center.

Veterans and Eligible Spouses Priority of Service
The South County Career Center is dedicated in providing all Veterans and their Eligible Spouses with Priority of Service at all service points in our center. Please see the definitions below:
Any veteran who died of a service connected disability;
Any member of the Armed Forces serving on active duty who, at the time of application for the priority, is listed in one or more of the following categories and has been so listed for a total of more than 90 days:
Missing in action;
Captured in line of duty by a hostile force; or
Forcibly detained or interned in line of duty by a foreign government or power;
The physical environment of the Center is barrier free, nurturing and supportive. The Center's unique delivery system is client-focused and provides continuous enhancement of services for the best client experience through service, education, compassion and referral.
