(Jeffersonville, IN) On Oct. 16, Community Alternatives Southeast (CASE) held a fall festival for the people they support, staff and family members. Though threatened by bad weather, folks didn't let it dampen their spirits as they moved the laughter, food, prizes and fun inside.

"The people we support had a ball; they laughed, smiled, communicated," said Jody Schneider, human resources assistant at CASE.

People tore up the dance floor as Program Manager Charlie Stevenson, a drummer, and his oldies band provided the music. "Oldies but goodies," said Ms. Schneider. Other activities included bingo, face and pumpkin painting, and bean bag tosses. Each home was challenged to bake and decorate a cake for a contest. The cakes were then used in a cake walk.

In addition to the food and games, everyone who attended took home a prize: individuals and children painted pumpkins to take home, employees were given scarecrows and pumpkins and four lucky winners took home door prizes.

"We hope to do it next year," said Ms. Schneider.
