In September, Direct Support Professional Kathy Rosenberry really went way out of her way when she attended the DSPs To DC event, an organized effort to promote house bill 1279 which aims to increase the pay of direct service providers nationwide. Among other things, she spoke with her congressman about how she helps the individuals she serves get involved with community service projects, is assisting one man to realize his dream of seeing the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville and is getting them active in advocating for their rights.
