ResCare Tulsa's Advocate of the Year for 2007, Habilitation Training Specialist Jim Collins is most known for his work with a married couple who both had intellectual and developmental disabilities. The husband experienced many health issues and Mr. Collins took it upon himself to be there to explain to the wife what her husband was going through. She also had very decayed teeth, and Mr. Collins advocated for her to get the resources to replace them. And when her husband finally lost his battle with his health, he was there to comfort the devastated woman and even went with her to pick out the perfect dress she would wear at his funeral.
