Susan Kaminski, Florida State Winner

(Clearwater, FL) Residential Home Manager Susan Kaminski runs ResCare’s Twin Lane Community Group Home like her own home – creating a comfortable and fun environment while looking out for the best interests of the residents.

“Susan spends countless personal hours researching medical procedures, assistive techniques and adaptive equipment technology to bring everything possible to the folks she supports,” Tina Engleman, executive director of ResCare Florida – Pinellas, said.

Other than helping with the physical needs of those living in the group home, Ms. Kaminski ensures a relaxed and jovial atmosphere by instilling in each of her employees a passion for providing quality supports.

“When visiting, it’s easy to see that regardless of the physical, mental or emotional challenges of each resident, everyone feels they are an integral member of the home,” Ms. Engleman said.

Ms. Kaminski knows about family. She is mother of six children, an active grandmother and caregiver for her ill father-in-law.

“Susan’s energy, personal devotion and positive, can-do attitude have helped the people living at Twin Lane build a home which is rich in personal growth and interpersonal experience,” Ms. Engleman said.

These things make Ms. Kaminski the perfect choice for the ANCOR Direct Support Provider of the Year title for Florida. She was recognized at ANCOR’s conference held in New Orleans.
