Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor and federally-funded, the Job Corps program was founded in 1964 and has helped to prepare over 2 million young people to enter and succeed in the work force. ResCare Job Corps is the nation’s second largest operator of Job Corps facilities. We currently operate 20 Job Corps centers enrolling approximately 7,500 students across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
In our ResCare Job Corps programs, eligible young people ages 16 through 24 receive educational and vocational training at no cost. Each Job Corps location is unique, but all of our centers offer career counseling, vocational and on-the-job training, education to earn a high school diploma or GED, and support for students transitioning to the working world. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills provide the underpinnings that help students transform their lives and build brighter futures.
Eligible applicants include disadvantaged youth who need additional education, training, or counseling to obtain and hold meaningful jobs. Only U.S. citizens or lawfully-admitted residents may participate. Students may live on or off campus, and receive a basic living allowance. ResCare Job Corps centers adhere to a policy of “Zero Tolerance” for violence and drug use.
Last year, 90 percent of Job Corps graduates nationwide started new careers, enrolled in higher education programs, or enlisted in the military. To learn more, please call or visit the website of a ResCare Job Corps center near you:
