Employment Application FAQ

  • How do I apply?

    External candidates may click on the link called "External Applicants". This will bring you to a screen whereby candidates can search for jobs by a State/City selector. Candidates may also search for jobs by Job Category.

    Internal candidates may click on the link called “Internal Applicants”.  It will then ask you to enter your user name and password.  All ResCare employees have the same structure for their initial user name and password. 

    User Name:   first 6 letters of last name + first letter of first name + last 4 digits of the SSN.

    Password:     Employee ID# (obtain from HR)   + last 4 digits of the SSN.

    The system will then say that the password has expired and you will be asked to change your password.  Passwords must contain one non-alphanumeric character (i.e. $, #, !).

  • Once I start the application do I need to complete it now or can I finish it at a later date?

    Candidates may save their applications while they are in progress and restart where they left off at anytime within 90 days.  To return to your incomplete application:

    • Go to Go to ResCare.com's Careers page
    • Click External Applicants (Internal Applicants if you are a ResCare employee
    • Click on the “Sign In” link above the box titled “Returning Applicants”
    • Type in your username and password
    • Candidate will see a window called “Incomplete Applications” and the candidates incomplete applications will be listed in the same box.
    • Click on your incomplete application to continue your application

    The system will take you back to the part of the application where the candidate left off.

  • What if I have forgotten my password?

    Candidates that have forgotten their passwords may retrieve their username and/or password by clicking on the “Sign-in linkin the top right hand corner of the website.

    • Go to Go to ResCare.com's Careers page
    • Click “External Applicants”
    • Click on the “Sign In” link in the top right hand corner of the job locator page.
    • Click on HELP

    Note:  Internal applicants to ResCare must call the ResCare IT Helpdesk to have their password reset.

  • If I want to apply for several different jobs can I complete just one application?

    Candidates may choose different locations to apply to during the application process in the beginning of the application but are not able to select different job types due to the job specific questions for each position.

  • How do I know that my application has been received?

    All candidates will receive an email (if an email address was provided) when their application is received.

  • How can I check on the status of my application?

    If the qualifications match the needs of the hiring manager he/she will contact the candidate for an interview.  There is no need to follow up with us requesting a status of your application since those decisions are made by the operation.  Please do not reply to the confirmation email and request a status of your application.
