In an effort to provide exceptional pharmacy services to the people we support, ResCare developed Pharmacy Alternatives, LLC. A joint venture between Pharmapro, Inc. and Community Alternatives Pharmacy, Pharmacy Alternatives™ (PAL) opened its doors in 2006 and is one of only a few pharmacies in the nation that specialize in serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At ResCare’s Pharmacy Alternatives™, we offer:

• State-of-art pharmaceutical systems and packaging technology designed especially for the population we serve

• A highly responsive medical records team
• Speedy processing of physician orders
• Efficient and timely dispensing and shipment of medications

In addition to providing traditional pharmacy services, we also offer clinical supports including seminars, conferences, webinars, email education, and even individualized educational support. Our monthly newsletter, The Post Script, includes information about pharmacy best practices, new medications, staff training issues, and research in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The pharmacy also provides the services of a certified developmental disabilities nurse as a resource to all facilities.

Pharmacy Alternatives™ currently serves clients, families, and agencies in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and is growing to provide services in additional states.
